First came the location on Long Beach Island in New Jersey, now a second is planned an hour inland.
The Chicken or the Egg, a popular Jersey Shore restaurant in Beach Haven known to its fans as “Chegg,” will be opening an eatery at The Shoppes at Renaissance Square at 141-181 Route 70 in Marlton.
The shopping center’s landlord, RD Management of New York City, on Tuesday said it had signed two leases totaling 30,710 square feet for the retail property, for The Chicken or the Egg and the adult day care center Town Square. Both of those tenants are slated to open up later this year at the site in Marlton, which is part of Evesham Township.
The second Chicken or the Egg will occupy a new building, which is under construction, located on an outer parcel at the shopping center facing Route 70. It will retain its 30-year-old menu but add a few new elements.
